The MagicalButter Machine is definitely the superior device, with fine tuning of temperature and an automated process. However, the Mota Pot seems to be the cheaper alternative for those that do not want the additional features and want to spend less.
The MagicalButter offers temperature control with up to five selections: no heat, 130F, 160F, 190F, or 220F.
The MagicalButter has five different buttons which are clearly labeled and display the various usages: 1 hour (oil), 2 hours (butter), 4 hours (tincture), 8 hours, and a cleaning mode.
Besides providing a colorful light show, the MagicalButter features LED lights to enhance the user’s experience by displaying the cooking cycle. The lights are strategically positioned to reflect off the ceiling during operation.
Unlike the MagicalButter, the Mota Pot does not offer any fine tuning options of temperature control.
Almost like a teapot, the Mota Pot is put over the heat of a stove. The instructions state to combine butter, ground up cannabis, and water into the pot. Then, heat the pot for about ten minutes over the stove at medium temperature. After this, you can simply pour our the contents and to refrigerate the newly made butter.
The MagicalButter Machine has a one year warranty and they state that, “MagicalButter.com will pay for [the cost of] return shipping.”
No warranty information could be found for the Mota Pot.
